Acoustics

Acoustics top the list of priorities for employees.* Quieter environments promote better wellbeing, enhance leisure and hospitality experiences, create a restful environment for aged care and patient recovery. It also improves concentration and productivity within education and the workplace. That’s why good sound absorption and sound insulation are so important.

Our ICONIK 280T collection offers a best-in-class sound reduction of 19 dB. Our acoustic vinyl, linoleum and carpet tile ranges are optimised to improve the acoustic comfort. They are designed to offer impact sound reduction, sound absorption and good resistance to indentation.

Tarkett SoundMaster

With its high-performing felt backing specially developed by our researchers, Tarkett SoundMaster® carpet improves noise insulation by 15dB and sound absorption by 100%, compared to standard carpet designs.* It limits the reverberation time by reducing acoustic reflections, reduces the generation of disruptive sounds within the room, such as the sound of footsteps or chairs scraping on the floor) and lowers the background noise caused by external sounds.

*These acoustic tests were performed under laboratory conditions by the independent, accredited German test institute SWA which specialises in acoustic and heat technical tests and consultancy.
