Hygiene

The importance of hygiene has come into focus like never before in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, highlighting the vital role of infection prevention and control in preventing infections and antimicrobial resistance, and particularly in healthcare and aged care settings.
Tarkett floors helps maintain good hygiene

For decades, we are developing flooring solutions that promote health and wellbeing. This means prioritising patient safety, improving the workplace for medical teams, and making life easier for cleaners with a welcoming, hygienic environment.

Phthalate-free peace of mind

Tarkett flooring have no phthalate

Phthalates help to make plastics more flexible, and this flexibility is a fundamental characteristic of PVC resilient flooring. Since 2010, we have moved ahead of the curve to remove these substances from our resilient flooring range and develop healthier alternatives with our suppliers. At the end of 2023, 100% of our vinyl production sites in Europe, North America, Brazil, Ukraine, Serbia, and China use phthalate-free plasticizer technology.

We design flooring that is easy to clean and maintain

Infection Control

We help our customers to make the right choices for healthcare settings, providing guidance on choosing floors that offer excellent support for infection prevention and control in hospitals.
For example, our easy-to-clean vinyl solutions represent the best solution for areas with a high risk of infection. Compliant with the most stringent infection control standards, our solutions do not contain phthalates.

In high risk areas such as operating theatres, floors must meet the highest hygiene standards to contribute to infection control and air cleanliness. Our R&D teams have developed easy to clean flooring solutions with sealed surfaces and fewer joints that prevent the risk of infection, while offering good resistance to stains and chemicals.
